High Life Highland libraries promote literacy, fire the imagination, stimulate the mind and serve communities. Library membership is free and open to everyone.
The libraries work to provide reading and information services to support the educational, cultural and recreational needs of all members of the Highland community. High Life Highland has an extensive network of 61 community and school libraries, plus eight mobile libraries, to give you access to a wide range of published materials. Visit your local branch to see how easy joining the library is, you will gain instant access to thousands of books through the Highland network.
The library service works with communities to identify, promote and preserve published material of local importance, and supports both formal and informal learning including the provision of a mobile library service to schools and communities. Highland Libraries has a vibrant community of Reading Groups, which meet in libraries and private homes throughout the Highlands. With access to over 1000 titles it is a wonderful opportunity to discover new books with friends new and old.
Your local library is also your window to the world wide web - as every library offers internet access. You can use the High Life Highland Library computers to surf the internet; email; download and print photographs; use spreadsheet, databases and presentation software; browse the online library and so much more.
