Following discussion with Inverness BID, High Life Highland today confirmed that it has been decided to postpone the city floral displays until 2021, due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak.
Ian Ross, Chair of the High Life Highland Board, said: “We are naturally disappointed to have to postpone the floral displays this year. Our team have wrestled with various scenarios to try and make it happen but in the end, it is just not possible given the guidelines and the unprecedented situation we are facing. The health and wellbeing of our staff must come first and postponement is the best option to ensure that.”
Cllr Graham Ross, Depute Provost of Inverness said: “The decision to postpone the city floral displays for Inverness this summer is absolutely right thing to do. It is imperative that the safety of High Life Highland staff and volunteers comes first and foremost in these extremely difficult times. I look forward to seeing the wonderful floral displays on our city streets again in 2021.”
