High Life Highland has been able to keep facilities open following the announcement by the First Minister of further restrictions across Scotland last week.
High Life Highland leisure centres and visitor attractions will remain open during the school holidays.
Following a trial at Sutherland Swimming Pool, open swimming sessions for 8 to 11-year olds and family swim sessions will now be available at swimming pools across the Highlands.
Customers and families looking to attend are being requested to pre-book their session online and social distancing must always be adhered to in all areas of the facility, including in the swimming pool.
Chief Executive of the Charity Steve Walsh said, “The safety of our customers and staff remains our highest priority and a huge amount of work has gone into ensure our locations are COVID-safe, and that HLH is doing its bit to mitigate the spread of the virus.
“We are therefore delighted that we are able to remain open during the school holidays and give people the option to come along and enjoy the gym, swim, courts or fitness classes.
High Life Highland believe it is at the heart of local communities. The Charity has resumed services in twenty-six leisure sites and seventeen libraries along with various other activities being offered through Youth work, Outdoor activities, Active Schools, Adult Learning and Music tuition since the lockdown in March.
Mr Walsh continued, “Our museums and visitor attractions remain open and The Highland Folk Museum and Inverness Botanic Gardens have tremendous outdoor spaces for families to enjoy during the holidays. None of these locations have admission charges, with visitors simply invited to make a donation to the Charity to cover their visit, if they are able to.
Mr Walsh concluded, “We have received some tremendous feedback from our customers about being able to use our services again, as well as positive comments about them feeling safe in doing so. Our staff have worked incredibly hard to make that possible so that customers can enjoy our facilities once more. We look forward to welcoming more customers back during the school holidays.”
