High Life Highland is continuing its bounceback campaign with the reintroduction of face-to-face youth work across the Highlands.
Providing a space for young people to meet which is safe and has the support of youth workers is important under normal circumstances and the High Life Highland youth team are looking forward to welcoming young people back into its youth centres across the region.
Since the Pandemic took hold and restrictions were put in place youth work teams have been reliant on digital solutions and socially distanced work has taken place where possible.
Mark Richardson Principal Youth Work Manager said, “Young people want and need to meet each other socially in informal learning spaces and I am delighted that we can take a step closer to normality with a phased approach to reopening our youth centres.”
High Life Highland are currently working towards opening Alness Youth Centre in November followed by Invergordon Joss Street Hall, Melvich Megacaff and Aviemore Hub early in December.
Mr Richardson continued, “We are acutely aware of the issues facing young people at this time especially regarding levels of mental health and wellbeing which have been amplified during the restrictions put in place to deal with the Pandemic. Our digital solutions have worked well in keeping in touch with young people over the past few months, however it will be pleasing to see the face-to-face elements of youth work established again over the next few weeks.”
