High Life Highland (HLH) is seeking to appoint two new independent directors to the charity’s Board to provide strategic direction, expert advice and governance to the charity.
High Life Highland is keen to recruit people with a strong track record in management who will be committed and effective ambassadors for the charity. Applicants with financial and/or legal experience are particularly welcome.
HLH is committed to creating and maintaining a balanced and diverse Board, and whilst all applications will be considered based on an individual’s ability and fit to the job description and person specification, the charity would also particularly welcome applications from female, young, and ethnically diverse community members to represent the services delivered by HLH.
Making life better for the communities it serves, High Life Highland supports people of all ages across the Highlands through delivery of services including leisure facilities, libraries, archives, community centres, sport, outdoor activities, adult learning, music tuition, visitor attractions and youth.
The High Life Highland Board consists of four elected members from The Highland Council and eight independent Directors, who each bring a wealth of skills. As directors of one of the largest charities in the Highlands, the Board members are responsible for leading the strategic direction of the organisation and meet several times a year.
High Life Highland is a charity registered in Scotland, formed in October 2011 by The Highland Council. It develops and promotes opportunities in culture, learning, sport, leisure, health and wellbeing throughout the Highlands, for both residents and visitors. The charity’s Board provides extensive experience of public, private and development agency backgrounds which is a perfect complement for the scope of High Life Highland’s work.
