Talk “William and Murdoch Paterson-Pioneers of Highland Railway Tracks”, Anne-Mary Paterson

This talk is one in the series of Highland Family History Society programme of talks which take place on Wednesday evenings at the Highland Archive Centre during autumn an spring each year.

On this particular occasion, Anne-Mary Paterson will be speaking about William and Murdoch Paterson, her grand uncles who were responsible for the design and construction of most of the railways radiating from Inverness. She will commence the talk with some family history going back to Culloden and describe how she came to write her biography of the Paterson brothers. She will then talk about some of their work, in particular the line from Aviemore to Inverness which includes the Culloden and Findhorn Viaducts and Slochd.

The talk will take place at the Highland Archive Centre, Inverness, on 26 October, 7.30-9pm. The talk is free.
