The Hub in Aviemore was the venue recently for an awards ceremony to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the area’s youth.
The Dynamic Youth Awards – hosted by High Life Highland and IRL Education – recognised the efforts made across a wide range of activities from producing radio shows on Speysound to designing promotional materials for local charities.
Those receiving their Dynamic Youth Awards were: Lewis Mason, Saoirse Derry, Zia Pounder, Cammy MacKenzie, Emily Ashmore, Rachel Hull, Ella Brimblecombe, Jude Poole and Boyd Macleod.
Paul Jarvis, Youth Development Officer at High Life Highland said: “The dedication and hard work of these young individuals has positively impacted the local community while also helping them develop valuable skills and confidence. Their efforts demonstrate the significant contributions young people can make through commitment and initiative.
“There’s lots more to come in the new term ahead with opportunities to get involved in many activities including Wellbeing Fusion events, employability and digital skills groups, the Autistic and Likeminded People/LGBTQ+ social group as well as SQA and other youth awards groups.
“Furthermore, some of our young people might be interested in standing as a candidate for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch in the up and coming bi-election for the Scottish Youth Parliament, which could offer an amazing experience for them.”
Hannah Mitchell Programme Director of IRL Education commented: “All these fantastic young people are to be congratulated for the significant contributions they have made through their various projects and initiatives, and I look forward to seeing how they will continue to develop their skills and further contribute to their communities.”
