Skye residents and visitors will be able to restart swimming at the Fingal Centre in Portree, as it reopens its doors to the public on Monday.
Fingal Centre Manager, Scott Milne said, “This is the day we have all been waiting for since our building was put into lockdown in March.”
“The team has worked extremely hard to get the location reopen in a safe and accessible way for our customers.”
“I fully appreciate and support that The Highland Council’s priority was the safety of pupils and to get them back to full-time education. So, I am extremely grateful to the Head Teacher and school staff for their support in getting our local leisure centre re-opened for the many people on the island looking to get back to swimming.”
“We will have a number of measures in place to ensure the Scottish Government’s guidelines are applied at all times, so customers may see some changes. However, we will have staff around to advise customers are they return to the centre.”
The centre manager concluded, “We have waited a while to be able to make this announcement, but now we have, I am really looking forward to seeing our residents and visitors coming back to the Fingal Centre.”
