People living in Dingwall and the surrounding area are invited to get to know the facilities on offer at their local leisure centre when an open weekend is held there on Saturday and Sunday 28 and 29 January 2023.
The Dingwall Leisure Centre benefited from a significant upgrade to facilities recently, as part of an ongoing programme to upgrade gyms across the High Life Highland network. As well as the new gym, people using Dingwall Leisure Centre enjoy access to a swimming pool, steam room and sports halls.
The open weekend will give everyone an opportunity to try out the wide range of equipment, classes and facilities on offer at Dingwall Leisure Centre. It is open to non-members, as well as people who have already joined the highlife programme. Online booking is recommended for all of the open weekend activities, although walk-ins may be offered where there is space available.
The activities on offer include body pump, kettle bell, P90 and indoor cycling classes. Special kids activities will be part of the programme, as well as specific family friendly times in the pool. There will be opportunities to try the facilities available for table tennis, badminton, swimming and strength training – have a look at the programme online at www.highlifehighland.com to find out more and book your place.
Councillor Graham MacKenzie, Chair of the Dingwall & Seaforth Area Committee of Highland Council, said:
“I’m very happy that the people of Dingwall and the surrounding area are to have an opportunity to visit the newly refurbished Dingwall Leisure Centre. The improvement to the facility is very welcome and I know that many people are looking forward to using these facilities. I would urge as many people as possible to take advantage of this open weekend to visit the Centre.”
Mark Tate, chair of the HLH Board, said:
“Ensuring that affordable access to leisure, swimming and gym facilities is available to communities throughout the Highlands is key for High Life Highland. We aim to support the wellbeing of our communities, particularly during this time of increasing pressures on all of our finances. Our highlife membership offers affordable access to a whole range of facilities, including Dingwall Leisure Centre, so do come along on our open weekend to find out more about what’s on offer – its open to everyone. I’d encourage anyone interested in joining to come along and find out more about the affordable membership options available!”
Lisa MacDonald, Dingwall Leisure Centre manager, said:
“We are inviting everyone in the local area to come along to our open weekend at Dingwall Leisure Centre and experience some of the very latest equipment now available in our gym following the upgrade in December. Anyone can come along and try out the classes on offer, as well as have a look at the new gym equipment. For people keen to sign up to particular activities, I’d recommend that folks book in advance, as its sure to be a popular weekend.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming new people to come and experience our facility. All in all, we hope that the weekend will encourage everyone living locally to find out about what is on offer at Dingwall Leisure Centre.”
