High Life Highland Libraries are once again supporting World Book day albeit online this year.
World Book day has a mission to promote reading for pleasure and changes lives through a love of books and shared reading.
Julie Corcoran Principal Libraries manager for High Life Highland said, “Libraries play a unique role in promoting reading in communities. We have a full day planned around World Book Day with live Bookbug sessions on Facebook at 11am and themed Lego challenges throughout the day concluding with a World Book Day themed family Quiz at 4pm.”
World Book day is a charity funded by publishers and booksellers in the UK and Ireland and enables libraries to use campaigns more effectively to promote reading engagement and library membership across the UK.
Ms Corcoran concluded, “This year like everything else World Book Day is going to be a bit different, however all we can do to help young people gain an interest in reading for pleasure is vitally important providing skills that will have an impact on a child’s future success and we look forward to welcoming them to our libraries once again soon.”
