High Life Highland is hosting an Open Day at the Leven Centre, Kinlochleven, next week where both highlife members and non-members have the opportunity to try out the wide range of equipment, facilities, and group fitness classes on offer – among other things!
The Open Day on Saturday 1st February is completely free. For those members of the community who haven’t had a chance to experience the recently refurbished fitness suite – equipped with Technogym equipment as well as a dedicated strength and conditioning area – there will be tours and gym inductions happening throughout the day.
There will also be kettlebells sessions, indoor cycling and racket sports along with classes specifically aimed at older members of the community such as otago, an exercise class aimed at preventing falls, injuries and improve cognition, working on increasing strength, balance and flexibility.
There’s also gymnastics for children age 5-11 years old, lego club and Bookbug sessions happening on the day.
Ewan Thorburn, Facilities Manager for High Life Highland in Lochaber said: “We are delighted to be hosting an Open Day at The Leven Centre next weekend and look forward to welcoming new faces to the facility, along with a few familiar ones! The Leven Centre is an integral part of the Kinlochleven community and is very much here to support the social and physical wellbeing of locals and visitors alike.”

The Leven Centre is also an integrated learning community comprising of the community centre, school and public library and the community facilities within Kinlochleven Primary and High Schools. The Leven Centre is a focal point and meeting place for the whole community of South and Nether Lochaber.
