High Life Highland’s Adult Learning is affirming its identity as a lifelong, life-wide and people-centred service with a new name! Launching during Adult Learners Week (18th-24th May), ‘Learning for Life’ is the new title for High Life Highland’s essential skills provision.
The service will continue to provide the established offer of adult literacy, adult numeracy, digital skills and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), delivered using the same bespoke approach that customers value so much.
Senior Adult Learning Coordinator, Kirsty D’Ambrosio explained: “Learning for Life speaks to what we do. It’s about learning skills for every aspect of life and acknowledges that we are all learners, whatever our age, learning can be life changing at any stage of life. That is why we felt it was important to acknowledge that and reflect that ethos in our new name.
“Our service users can be guaranteed the same excellent experience with our dedicated staff and volunteers, nothing changes there – but we hope that using Learning for Life going forward may also result in others reaching out to use our free services, helping improve confidence and make life better.”
High Life Highland’s Learning for Life can support adults with a range of different learning needs. Clients might want to perform better in their current workplace or to gain new employment. Staff and volunteers can also help people learn English, work towards achieving qualifications or simply help individuals to be able to understand household bills better.
To celebrate the launch of Learning for Life, High Life Highland is sharing a new video featuring adult learner Sheryl who shares her own experiences of how the charity helped her.
