Time is running out to apply to become a non executive director with High Life Highland with just two weeks until the deadline for applications to the charity board and trading board.
The charity, set up by The Highland Council in 2011, provides affordable access to health and wellbeing, learning and culture for people across the region, with board members providing strategic direction, expert advice and governance.
The deadline for applications is the 19 January with successful candidates taking up their positions in March. The charity welcomes applicants with diverse skills and expertise, particularly individuals with a proven track record in strategic leadership, as well as those with experience in net zero and sustainability – and for the Trading Company – commercial ventures, retail, food and beverage, or tourism leadership.
High Life Highland is also committed to creating and maintaining balanced and diverse boards, and whilst all applications will be considered based on a person’s ability and fit with the job description, the charity is keen to encourage applications from young people, women and individuals from ethnic communities, in order to properly represent the services delivered by the organisation. It is also important to ensure geographical representation with High Life Highland services and facilities operating right across the region.
The High Life Highland charity board consists of four elected members from The Highland Council and eight independent directors. Meanwhile the trading board is made up of nine directors, with members bringing a wealth of experience and skills to these voluntary roles.
