With the arrival of the summer holiday season comes the arrival of opportunity for local outdoor adventures for members of the public to enjoy under the sun.
High Life Highland will be running two walk-throughs of Inverness aimed at young families with children aged 7-14 years old from 10am to 1:30pm on both Thursday 27th July and Friday 4th August.
This river journey will include different sites, with storytelling along the way, and completing with creative sessions allowing children to make and take home their very own monsters.
John Orr, High Life Highland’s Countryside Ranger for the Inverness Area, shared: “This fun family-oriented event is all about exploring the imagination as we meander our way along the River Ness.
“Children will learn about interesting myths in the Inverness Museum and Gallery, then proceed to follow the river to the beautiful Ness Islands in search of mythical creatures, before heading into the Highland Archive Centre looking for clues from the past to create their monster.”
Parents, guardians, and carers are welcome to join along for the duration but are not required to do so as High Life Highland staff will be present throughout. It is encouraged that each child brings a snack to eat on the journey.
John added: “Members of the High Life Highland Rangers, Archives, Museums, and Libraries teams look forward to exchanging knowledge, stories, and helping children create their own local myth-inspired monsters!”
