Meteorological autumn kicks in on 1st September – the ideal time to kick start a new fitness habit as the darker nights approach, with Inverness Leisure ideally placed to help with that!
High Life Highland is hosting an Open Day at Inverness Leisure on Saturday 7th September where both highlife members and non-members have the opportunity to try out the wide range of equipment, facilities, and group fitness classes on offer, plus check out the fantastic lighting in Studio 3 – giving fitness classes more of a night club vibe!
The Open Day is completely free and offers something for all the family from inflatable fun, mini racket sports and athletics for the kids to female weightlifting, line dancing and Zumba for the grown-ups. A range of health and wellbeing classes are on offer and there are free swim passes available. The dedicated team at Inverness Leisure will be running gym inductions and tours of the building and its facilities throughout the day.
Steven Clelland, Inverness Leisure Manager said: “This is the biggest ever Open Day we have hosted at Inverness Leisure with around a dozen adult group classes on offer as well as a range of other activities to suit all ages and abilities. If you are already a member of highlife you might want to try something new? Non members who come along to the Open Day can sign up for highlife membership there and then and receive a special, money saving offer.
“So whether you’re curious about trying something new like Boccia or weightlifting, experience the gym offering, a dip in our competition pool or event just some fun in the leisure waters with the family, get yourself along on the 7th September.
“Furthermore, we will be hosting our largest ever indoor cycling class with 60 bikes in our incredibly immersive Studio 3 at 2.15pm to 3pm – that is not to be missed!!
Steve Walsh, High Life Highland’s Chief Executive said: “Ensuring that affordable access to leisure and gym facilities is available to communities throughout the Highlands is key for High Life Highland. As a charity, we aim to support the wellbeing of our customers and members, particularly during this time where everyone is seeing increased pressures on their personal finances.
“Our highlife membership offers affordable access to a whole range of facilities, not only at Inverness Leisure but across the Highlands.”
The event runs from 10am-5pm and activities can be booked in advance or just turn up on the day. There is more information about highlife membership on the High Life Highland website and more details about the Open Day can be found on the Inverness Leisure Facebook page.
