Thanks to the Charity’s most recent corporate deal with Stagecoach Highlands, employees of Stagecoach across the Highlands now have discounted access to all High Life Highland leisure facilities.
These highlife memberships cover both individual and family options, which allows Stagecoach employees and their families access to a range of services such as swimming pools and fitness classes across 25 leisure centres throughout the Highlands.
At a time when the cost-of-living is high, and the knock-on effect of this can put employees under immense stress, Stagecoach has sought to boost morale through this partnership and has noticed its positive impact on members of staff in only a matter of months.
Speaking on behalf of Stagecoach North Scotland, David Simpson, Engineering Director, shared: “No one should have to push their physical health and mental wellbeing down the pecking order of priorities.
“When we introduced High Life Highland’s highlife membership scheme to staff, we wanted to improve retention and boost morale by giving our hard-working team a way to be active without any additional financial pressure.
“The highlife membership scheme has certainly done that – we’ve seen upwards of 130 members of staff signing up already.
“It’s fantastic to see so many people utilising the scheme. The fact that family members can utilise the benefits as well makes it even better!”
Three staff from Stagecoach chose to make the following anonymous testimonials of the scheme:
“I love this membership. Trying to take the kids swimming cost me a fortune before, so it started to become a treat for them. Now we can go often and keep fit and healthy.”
“The gym was a big part of my life and where I went to unwind and de-stress, but I had to give that up because I didn’t feel I could justify the cost. Thankfully this scheme came around and now I can go without the worry or guilt.”
“Joining High Life through our work membership has saved us a fortune. We are able to stay active without the worry of expenses and still have a good time with our family. Our daughter enjoys swimming which we use a lot, along with the gym membership. They have a wide range of brilliant equipment.”
Emma Thomson, High Life Highland’s highlife Development Officer, concluded: “High Life Highland are so proud to extend the corporate membership offering to Stagecoach, who provide essential transport services across all our Highland communities.
“Taking on this corporate membership has shown a significant benefit to Stagecoach as an organisation in terms of an employee benefit, which in turn can positively affect recruitment, retention of staff, and staff morale.
“To learn that over a third of Stagecoach staff and their families are already benefitting from the highlife membership offering is such a rewarding feeling, more so to hear about the impact that access to leisure facilities has had on an individual level.
“As a charity, High Life Highland are just delighted to be able to partner with Stagecoach to support the health and wellbeing of the travel operator’s staff and their families by giving them access to the many leisure facilities and hundreds of activities taking place every week across the Highlands.”
High Life Highland have a range of corporate membership options on offer which can be tailored to suit the needs and budgets of each organisation. These packages can be fully funded by the organisation, or partially funded by the organisation and their employees.
Not only is this a great opportunity to invest in the health and wellbeing of members of staff, but it also contributes to supporting High Life Highland as a charity to ensure these facilities are available and sustainable for Highland communities.
