Mark Tate, chair of the HLH Board, said:
“Giving communities across the Highlands affordable access to leisure, swimming and gym facilities is core to what High Life Highland delivers to the wellbeing of our communities, particularly as families are facing increasing pressures on their finances. Being able to continue to invest in facilities during these times and as we continue to recover from the pandemic is really important. highlife membership offers affordable access to a whole range of facilities, why not pop along to a Highlife centre to see what is on offer and, if you are not yet a member, explore the affordable membership options available.”
Lisa MacDonald, Dingwall Leisure Centre manager said:
“We are delighted to bring the new equipment to the Dingwall gym, offering our members and guests the very latest equipment and a significant upgrade across all of the current offer. With more space having been made available too, it will be a more enjoyable experience for our customers. In the first few weeks the focus will be on inductions, ensuring everyone is able to use the new equipment safely. We will be closing the gym soon to begin the installation – and if we get ahead of schedule, we might even manage to reopen earlier than planned – keep an eye on our facebook page for details.”
The Dingwall Leisure Centre induction process will be updated to take into account the change in the equipment. Each area of the gym (the main gym and the strength room) will require an induction and these will be bookable separately. There will be inductions available for different skill levels with more details available from the leisure centre.
Fitness room users who have previously completed an induction and PAR-Q are not required to undergo a further full induction although they may find it useful to do so. The fitness room will be manned at various times for the first few weeks to deal with any customer queries.
The High Life Highland facility in Dingwall will be open to members for inductions from Wednesday 4 January 2023. Inductions can be booked online 7 days in advance by visiting www.highlifehighland.com
The new gym adds to the existing offer at Dingwall which includes a swimming pool, steam room, sports halls and varied programme. To allow for the fitness suite refurbishment to take place, both the main gym and the strength and conditioning room will be closed from Monday 12 December 2022. It is planned to reopen both areas on Wednesday 4 January 2023.
