High Life Highland is all about “making life better” for its audiences locally, regionally and around the world. In the communities High Life Highland services, it is making life better in terms of people’s physical and mental health; in terms of their social wellbeing and sense of identity; and in terms of their self-esteem and life opportunities.
The main business of High Life Highland is the delivery across the charity’s seven areas of work:

High Life Highland (HLH) is a charity registered in Scotland and a company, Limited by Guarantee, wholly owned by The Highland Council, whose vision is to provide affordable access to health and wellbeing, learning and culture for everyone in Highlands. The charity has a Trading Subsidiary (a registered Community Interest Company) responsible for the management and delivery of the non-charitable objectives of the charity including retail, food and beverage, and other commercial activity including the operation of the Inverness Castle Experience from 2025.
As a result of retirals, HLH is looking to appoint Non Executive Directors, to both its main Board and its Trading Board to support the Executive Leadership Team by providing strategic direction, expert advice and governance to the charity and / or the trading company. We are particularly keen to attract applications from across the Highlands to ensure as wide a representation across the region as possible.
Applications are welcomed from any individuals with the required skill sets, however in this recruitment process High Life Highland Board would particularly welcome those with experience in sustainability and / or net zero and health and safety.
High Life Highland (Trading) C.I.C. Board would particularly welcome those with experience in sales or retail management / tourism or visitor attraction management and food and beverage management activities.
Positions will be unpaid but reasonable expenses will be available.
