Twice a year, the Highland Archive Centre runs a series of Archive Classes that are about to start again at the end of January. The Archives for Beginners series is a set of six classes that run once a week for six weeks.
The aim of the classes is to provide an opportunity for you to learn more about the records held in the archives, how you can use them and how they can help your research.
The first week starts with an introduction to the archives – what we do, how to use us and includes a short tour of the building. The next five classes cover Education records, Property records, Church records, Poor Relief records and Family and Estate records.
Classes cost £48 or £24 for concessions and must be booked in advance. While you can no longer book for the January set, we will be running another set in October 2019. For more information about the classes you can contact us via e-mail or telephone, or ask any member of Archive staff if you visit us.
