Welcome to the Highland Folk Museum
Welcome to the Highland Folk Museum, where you can step back in time and experience life in the Highlands from 1700s to the 1950s. We have over 35 historical buildings onsite for you to explore and discover how people in the Highlands lived, worked, went to school, enjoyed their leisure time.
We are open daily from Friday 4 April 2025 – Sunday 26 October 2025, Opening times are 10.00am – 5.00pm April – August (10.30am – 4.00pm in Sept and Oct)
There is no charge for entry, but we do welcome donations and there is no need to book your visit.

To help lessen the impact of increases to our operating costs, a charge for parking at the museum has been introduced. All of the income generated from parking will go towards the running and development of the museum. The parking charge will be a flat day-rate for stays of up to a maximum of seven hours, payable by card or coins, and will be charged at £2 per car; £4 for motorhomes and minibuses; and £9 per coach.
