Our Linen Stories (Ar Sgeulachdan Lìn) features twelve contemporary designers and tales of heritage, production, material innovation and sustainability with products ranging from new interior textiles to a flax chair and pair of skis.
At the Museum’s Leanach Church there will also be the opportunity for ‘Airing your Dirty Linen’ with the chance to see traditional laundry objects from the museum collections.
Near the church, at the Highland Cottage Cart Shed, the University of the Highlands and Islands’ Maureen Hammond will be giving public demonstrations of traditional flax processing methods from 18th century Badenoch on the 23rd and 24th of October, 11am – 4pm each day with talks at 11.30am & 2.00pm.
Join Our Linen Stories on tour across Scotland, N. Ireland and the Low Countries celebrating our national and European links and gathering your linen stories along the way.
