We have a wide range of Sports Activities available for children at Inverness Leisure, utilising our fantastic Sports Centre and the Queen’s Park Athletics Track.

Our sports activities timetable follows the Highland Council School calendar, so they do not run on school holidays or in-service days. Activities may also be affected by specific events, which will be noted on the ‘Alterations’ pages below.

BLOCK-BOOKABLE SPORTS ACTIVITIES

Mini Racket Sports

(3 years – 5 years)

Great for developing hand to eye co-ordination and learn the basic skills required for all racket sports. It is a fun-filled session for pre-school children of all abilities and parents are encouraged to join in.

Mini Athletics

(2 years 6 months – 4 years)

Athletes will have great fun taking part in a wide range of activities to promote running, jumping, and throwing skills. Athletics is fantastic for promoting physical development and suitable for all abilities.

Athletics

(4 years – 14 years)

Athletes will have great fun taking part in activities to promote running, jumping, and throwing skills.  Athletics is fantastic for promoting physical development and is suitable for all abilities.

Badminton

(4 years – 15 years)

Badminton sessions are for children of all abilities.  Players will be introduced to the basic strokes and movements through fun games and activities.

Club Pathway

Inverness Leisure is delivering the exciting new High Life Highland Learn to Swim Programme.  Junior Stroke Improvement and Club Pathway are being replaced with the new Level 6 class.  Please contact [email protected] for more information if your child has previously participated in these activities or completed the original Learn to Swim Scheme

Introduction to Lifeguarding

(8 years – 15 years)

This course includes valuable lifesaving and water safety skills, delivered in an exciting way that will get young people involved and motivated.  Class suitable for children aged 8 – 15 years old provided they have passed the Inverness Leisure Learn to Swim Scheme, or should contact Inverness Leisure to arrange an assessment.

Junior Stroke Improvement

(7 years – 15 years)

Inverness Leisure is delivering the exciting new High Life Highland Learn to Swim Programme.  Junior Stroke Improvement and Club Pathway are being replaced with the new Level 6 class.  Please contact [email protected] for more information if your child has previously participated in these activities or completed the original Learn to Swim Scheme

Play & Go

(9 months – 5 years)

Play & Go is a supervised play session involving a soft play circuit and inflatable bouncy castle.  This class is suitable for all children of 9 months+ who can walk and up to 5 years, and is a great place for children and parents to socialise.

Trampolining

(3 years 6 months – 15 years)

We welcome all abilities for this exciting sport. Come along and experience the excitement of bouncing higher than you ever have before. Children will learn a variety of moves and build fun routines.
