Meet Taran the Pict!

With Andrew Newton

Come and meet Taran the Pict at Inverness Museum and Art Gallery! Pop in to hear Taran talk about his lifestyle, ask away during the Q&A sessions, and get your hands on some objects that would have been used by the Pictish people.  Sessions are drop-in, so no need to book.  There is no charge, although we encourage donations.

Andrew Newton is a retired NHS Consultant who now volunteers as a heritage educator.  He’s a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, a regular contributor to the Online Young Archaeologists’ Club in Archaeology Scotland, and an ambassador for their Heritage Heroes programme.  Andrew regularly volunteers at museums across the country, including at Hadrian’s Wall, Trimontium in Melrose and Groam House Museum in Rosemarkie.  We’re delighted to welcome Andrew back to Inverness Museum and Art Gallery again, and look forward to meeting Taran the Pict!
