Official Opening for Invergordon Leisure Centre
High Life Highland has unveiled expanded and improved facilities at Invergordon Leisure Centre. Funded by The Highland Council, facilities including a new fitness room and dance studio were officially declared open at a ribbon cutting ceremony last Monday.
Returning to perform the ceremony was Barbara Mackenzie who retired in May last year after 30 years’ service as receptionist at the centre.
The improvements provide state-of-the-art fitness facilities for users, with new pieces of resistance cardiovascular equipment which have individual television, radio and iPod connectivity built in. There is also a new dance studio, crèche facility and meeting room.
Douglas Graham, High Life Highland Vice-Chair, said
“We are committed to providing the best possible facilities and service for our customers and this investment will allow expansion into new activity in the dedicated dance studio and users of the fitness suite access to a new and improved range of equipment.”
Highland Councillor Maxine Smith, said
“The Highland Council is delighted to work with High Life Highland to provide these improvements to Invergordon’s well-loved leisure centre. It’s really exciting to see such modern facilities and I’ve no doubt they will prove to be hugely popular with the local community. I would encourage those interested in keeping fit to come and see for themselves.”
