NHS Highland Diabetes iPad Loan Service Guide

HLH have teamed up with NHS Highland and Abilitynet to put in place an iPad borrowing service in libraries. The scheme has been put in place to digitally support members of the community who have been diagnosed with or are at risk of Diabetes Type 2.

Through available funding NHS Highland have purchased 8 iPads so they can support those living within the Highland community to access relevant online health information for their condition who may not have digital devices at home.

The scheme will allow customers in Highland to phone or e-mail their local library and arrange to borrow an iPad just as they would a book. The scheme will be promoted via an HLH press release and through NHS referral. Customers will NOT have to provide evidence of their condition or an NHS referral to borrow the devices. Note that these iPads have been specifically locked down to allow access to authorised health information and

Please contact your local Highland Library for more information and how to borrow a device.
