Towards the end of 2019, the West Highland Museum & the Lochaber Archive hosted a joint event in the Commando Room at the West Highland Museum. There were demonstrations of close combat commando training as taught at Inverailort and Achnacarry from Paul MacDonald of MacDonald Armouries, Edinburgh. Assistant Archivist Peter also offered attendees the change to explore archive material relating to Lochaber during the war and gave a talk on the Commandos.
