At the Lochaber Archive Centre we recently had a meeting of old acquaintances. Dr John McGregor was born in Fort William and educated at Lochaber High School and Edinburgh University. He is the author of several books on Highland railways including “The West Highland Railway – plans, politics and people”. May MacIntyre, also a native of Fort William, enjoyed a thirty year career teaching the pupils of Fort William Secondary School and Lochaber High School – a young John McGregor included.
