Am Baile – Maps & Plans
Am Baile’s maps and plans collection includes a range of national, regional and local maps as well as plans of farms, crofts, buildings and archaeological sites. A free search portal for finding online historical maps based on locality and time period, created as a project by the University of Portsmouth and the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC).
It allows the user to search for digitised historical maps across numerous different collections via a geographical search. Search by typing a place-name or by clicking in the map window, and narrow by date.
National Library of Scotland Maps Collections
Access and view over 20,000 maps as high-resolution, colour, zoomable images. The maps date between 1560 and 1935 and are grouped into several categories including County maps, coastal charts, town plans, military maps and information about early Scottish maps.
