Nairn Community Sport Hub was launched in 2017 and is a virtual hub based at Nairn Academy that aims to support the development of sport & physical activity in the Nairn area. It is a mechanism to enable clubs, schools, facilities and local organisations to work together towards improving sport and physical activity opportunities in Nairn.
Key Principles
The project has a strong focus on developing the people involved in sport and works closely with the school to develop sport & physical activity. Nairn Community Sport Hub has been developed in partnership with Nairn Academy, High Life Highland, community clubs, organisations and National Governing Bodies of sport. The group works on the following:
- PATHWAYS in sport – Create effective pathways between schools and clubs, allowing young people to reach their potential.
- PROFILE of sport – Increase the profile of sport & physical activity in the local area, helping to increase the number of people taking part in sport.
- PLACES of sport – Maximise the use of local facilities & resources.
- PEOPLE in sport – Support the development of participants, young leaders, coaches and volunteers.
Who is involved
A range of representatives meet quarterly to discuss and develop the project. Please get in touch if you would like to get involved with the project or pop along to a meeting.
